Why Be Ready for the Answer When Asking for Feedback?
Asking for feedback can mean being ready to hear a view that may be different from what you believe about your product, branding or financing. A candid answer may not be what you want to hear but can be what helps you most, in Loren Weisman’s view.
- Candid feedback may break down your product, optics, financing or branding in ways you did not expect.
- Some people may tell you that you are doing great only so you will work with them.
- Praise followed by a pitch to come work with them can be a fool’s errand.
- An answer you do not want to hear may be the one you need.

Be Prepared to Hear a Different View
If you’re not ready for an honest opinion, don’t ask. My name is Loren Weisman. I’m a brand, communications and optics strategist. If you have a question, if you’re looking for an honest opinion, be prepared to hear an honest opinion.
Be prepared to hear somebody break down or have a view that may be different than what you believe, whether it comes to your product, your optics, your optics, your financing, your investment platform, your branding, or anything else. While there are many out there and many of these people just scams, I want to say you’re doing great.
The Fool’s Errand and the Answer You Need
You’re excellent. This is all this, now, come work with me. That oftentimes it’s the fool’s errand. They’re trying to fool you, so you’ll just work with them.
Maybe it might be better for you that when you ask an honest opinion, you can get an honest answer. And sometimes an honest answer and an honest opinion back. It might not be what you want to hear, but it might just be the thing you need to hear that can help you the most.

Questions and Answers
How can you prepare to hear truthful feedback about your business?
Preparing to hear truthful feedback can start with accepting that someone may have a different view than yours. That view may cover your product, your optics, your financing or your branding.
Why do some consultants only tell you what you want to hear?
Some consultants may say you are doing great and excellent, then ask you to come work with them. That praise can be a fool’s errand meant to win your business, as Loren Weisman sees it.
Can negative feedback help a small business?
Feedback that is not what you want to hear can still help a small business. It may be the very thing you need to hear to see what works and what needs work.
