How Can Being a Podcast Guest Go Better?
Being a podcast guest can go better when you volley with the host and let them lead, instead of taking over the conversation. A guest who allows the host to lead may get asked more questions and asked back, in Loren Weisman’s view.
- Some guests may try to take over and control the conversation without being aware of the host.
- Letting the host lead can apply to other media too.
- Making the podcast a conversation and a connection may lead to a better conversation.

Bringing Something New or Stealing the Spotlight
Are you bringing something new to light or you just trying to steal the spotlight? My name is Loren Weisman. I’m a brand communications and optics strategist. And when it comes to guesting on somebody else’s podcast, how are you as a guest?
Guests Who Take Over the Conversation
Many of these podcasts and when they have guests on these guests seem to almost just try to take over, try to control, try to control the conversation, speak without being aware of the host, turning it into all about them in my view to be a better guest when you volley with that host, when you allow them to lead and this goes for other media too, you may end up getting asked back.
Letting the Host Lead
You may end up having a better conversation. Try not to use a podcast to all of a sudden make it about you. Try if you’re going to be on someone’s podcast to make it a conversation, a connection, allow them to lead and in you allowing the person’s podcast and the host of it to lead, they may ask you that many more questions.
