Wouldn’t it be cool if there was something like the I Voted app? That’s the subject of this Short video. Of course, it would have to work with the government, the states, the elections, the advertisers and the media, with a lot of people. But think about it. If you voted early and were given a tag or a code, wouldn’t it be great if that could shut off all the advertisements everywhere, right up until the election?

What Could an I Voted App Do?
An I Voted app could give each voter some kind of code or a QR code along with the I Voted sticker, so that campaign ads may no longer show up on social media feeds or TV for the rest of the election. In the view of Loren Weisman, it might also get more people to vote, and to vote earlier.
- The code could come with the little sticker you get the moment your vote clicks through.
- Campaign commercials could switch to different ads or a stale screen on social media and on TV.
- App developers, counties or states may be the ones who could build this out.
- The idea is meant as nonpartisan, and while it may be unrealistic, it could be a winner.

Voting Early and a Nonpartisan Idea
In the middle of recovery and at the same time getting out to vote early. I wonder, and this again, this is nonpartisan. Could we have, or could somebody that develops apps, could we have the I Voted application?
More Than a Little Sticker
Not just a little sticker, but the idea of like if you got something from that sticker and it gave you some kind of code or a QR code so that no more ads show up. Nothing shows up on your social media feeds. Nothing shows up on TV. It either goes to different ads or it goes to a stale screen or something.
No More Campaign Commercials
But the I Voted app, where the idea here would be once you voted, you no longer had to watch all the campaign commercials for the rest of the election, all the way leading up to Election Day. How much would that get, or how many people would that get to vote that much earlier, or maybe just to get people to vote?
Counties, States and App Developers
So that’s my crazy request in the middle of recovery right now after kind of a rough surgery. Are there any app people out there that can build this thing out? Are there any counties or states or whatnot that would dig into this, that the moment you voted, the moment that thing clicked through, they gave you your little sticker that you can put on your shirt, but they gave you some kind of QR code or code, and it would cut off social media, it would cut off things on television, regardless of, you know, who you use with TV or what you subscribe to.
Could This Be a Winner?
I mean, I know this is kind of unrealistic, but how cool would that be? The I Voted app. Once you vote, you don’t have to watch any more of the commercials any longer, all the way up through the election. I feel like in some way this could be a winner. Maybe.

Questions and Answers
What is the idea behind an I Voted app?
The idea behind an I Voted app is that some kind of code or a QR code could come with the I Voted sticker once you vote. With it, campaign ads may no longer show up on your social media feeds or on TV for the rest of the election.
Could an app stop campaign ads after you vote?
An app like this may be kind of unrealistic, since it would have to cut off social media and television regardless of who you use for TV or what you subscribe to. Even so, app developers, counties or states could dig into it. It would have to work with the government, the states, the elections, the advertisers and the media.
Could skipping campaign ads get more people to vote early?
Skipping campaign ads after voting might get more people to vote that much earlier, or maybe get more people to vote at all. In the view of Loren Weisman, an idea like this could be a winner, maybe, and it is meant as a nonpartisan one.
