What Do Hard Times in Business Show About the People Around You?
Hard times in business can show how the people around you act, interact and react when things stop going well. Seeing whether people stay in, throw temper tantrums, disappear or ghost during challenging stretches can set a better precedent for what you are building, today and in the years ahead, in Loren Weisman’s view.
- Working with people on something new can feel amazing while things are going really well.
- The question may be how those same people happen to be when the hard times hit.
- Whether people stay in, throw temper tantrums, disappear, ghost, or only want to be part of something when it is all good can be worth asking.
- Wishing for things to go bad is not the point; challenges can show how the inner circle acts, interacts and reacts.
- Learning this during challenging stretches can set a better precedent for the business today, next year and beyond.

Hoping for Hard Times With the People Around You
For the safety, security, stability and growth of your business. I hope you have some really hard times with the people around you when you’re building it. Sound weird? My name is Loren Weisman.
I’m a brand communications and optics strategist. And it’s interesting how when we’re working with certain people developing new things, how amazing it can feel when things are going really, really well. However, what happens and how do these people happen to be when the hard times hit?
How People Act When Things Get Challenging
Are they still in there? Do they throw temper tantrums? Do they disappear? Do they ghost?
Do they not want to be a part of something unless it’s all good? I’m not saying that I want things to be to go bad, but however, for things to go challenging so you can learn inside of that inner circle that you’re creating to understand how people act, interact and react.
When things are a little bit more challenging, it can set a better precedent for whatever you’re creating, whatever business you’re doing for today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next, next year and beyond.
