Podcast guest booking tactics and podcast host soliciting. Reposting a past episode.
A blog and Podcast with Brand Communications and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman
Podcast guest booking tactics
These concepts go back and forth between the podcaster and the guest or representative trying to be on a podcast or get their client on a podcast.
According to podcast statistics compiled from PodcastHosting.Org that was derived from My Podcast reviews, Chartable, Nielsen, Edison Research, Midroll, Statista and Ipsos, there are over one million podcasts out there with over 29 million episodes to date as of September 2020.
In turn, you have a lot of podcasters that are chasing guests and a lot of guests that are chasing podcasters. One of the key problems that plagues both sides is that both forget that this is such a large market.
And in those solicitations, they often sound very template like and very impersonal. Add in the issues of ego and arrogance as both guests and hosts will present less than accurate information about their shows or their authority and you run into more issues.
Podcast host soliciting
This is a topic that could be a series, but the main points covered include bringing authenticity to your ask, taking away the impersonal and creating a greater sense of authenticity and coming right to the point and asking what are you doing with your show?
Also exploring the ideas around…
Is your show for authenticity and authority or is it purely for popularity and money? And are you pitching your podcast to guests with authenticity and authority?
You do not need to be on every show and why saying yes to every show might be bad for your messaging and your authority.
Should you pay to be on a show? Should you really even charge?
And the objective truth about your show and your authority over the subjective hype that some create while trying to build their authority and popularity.
“The foundation of your messaging is framed by your words, your story and your actions. Consider making them strong, true, authentic and yours.”
Closing Thoughts
In the end, are you being true to yourself, the show you are trying to get on and the topics that are being discussed?
Or are you only trying to get on another show to self-promote and market yourself?
With so much of that happening so often, hosts are beginning to wise up to the false hype.
Yes, there is great reach in podcasts but it can also do damage as well. Whether as a host or a guest, bring the authenticity of you to the table and table the crazy overly hype, impersonal and spammy approaches that way to many others use.

Strategic Quote Blueprinting for your messaging and optics onlineA method to consider for stronger optimization, recognition and authority with quotes from Brand Communications and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman.
Stewarding Strategic Quote Blueprinting your messaging and optics
A brief overview with a series of ideas to strategically and effectively message
quotes across the internet and on your websites.
This walk through considers the quote itself,
then the image associated with the quote
as well as the distribution of it.
lastly, a few additional measures to reinforce the quote.
And Consider staying away from going quote crazy.
One a week can allow for a simmer and build, and over trying to spam out with too many quotes, all too often.
Authentic Instruction is not always comforting or comfortable.
The Quote first: Strategic Quotes Blueprinting for the words
Create the quote.
Check to see if that quote has been said by someone else before you. Many people may come up with the same words, even the same quote, but if it is already credited and established, it is not yours from a strategic or professional sense.Alter the words to create a quote that can not be credited to others.Consider running the quote through a plagiarism checker.Sites like Grammarly and QueText can be two good resources to check. As you look online, consider searching on Google, Duck Duck Go, and Yahoo.
Just cause you thought it up doesn’t mean it wasn’t said before by someone else, much earlier that you did.
To get a better sense, consider using the incognito or private windows in those searches and look at the image, video and news results too. Also, have a look to see if that quote is on GoodReads and BrainyQuote.
Extra credit of sorts:
See if the first four or five words that begin the quote, or somewhere inside the quote can be authored/ framed in something that can make it the primary keyword phrase for the quote.
Again, check to see the results there, that is not plagiarism if you find other exact phrases, but shifting away from a very popular phrase can give you more chance of taking over that search result.
3. Save the quote for a collection.
Save the quote somewhere to be able to reference back to and use in bulk at another time. It is a lot easier that trying to dig through different blogs and websites. You can see an example blog here of a collection of quotes Brand Messaging Strategist Quotes Blog.
More Extra credit:By making it over 900 words (The collection), and correctly laid out, it can serve as cornerstone content which is viewed as stronger than just a normal blog.
Between 900 and 1000 words though, don’t get carried away.
Some Extra Extra Credit…Track on a spreadsheet, where that quote has been used or shared either by itself or in a collection.
Image: Strategic Quote Blueprinting for graphics
Use an image that is yours. One you took. Please do not use other pictures, even if they are free. Enough people do and it does not allow the quotes to stand out. It is fine to use sites like Canva to get a layout and basic design, but just as you enter your quote, make it show up on top of your picture.
Make the quote legible on the picture. From font to font size to the color of the quote, can it be easily read.
Keep your name present but not arrogant and not oversized. Allow the quote to speak for itself as a statement of authority, over screaming who said it. it is about getting the credit, but put the focus on the credentials of your words.
Keeping a watermark, a couple core fonts or some kind of theme can also help with the uniformity and continuity of your quotes.
And if you have an office or location of the image… add the Geotag to the image too and consider using a site like GeoImgr to help do that.
Extra Credit for sizings.
Here are the optimal post sizes. With Canva, you can take a quote image you have built and alter it to fit these different sizes.
For each quote and for the continuity, use the same image, the same fonts and the same adjustments on the photo, just shift things for the size if you want to do a series of the different size variations.
You don’t have to do this every time, but every so often, it is a good idea.
“If the story you are sharing is not yours, it is just another story that more than likely has already been shared may times.”
Content Planning:
Stewarding Strategic Quote Blueprinting for placement.
In the preparation of the quote. When there is room, see how you can introduce the quote so the start of your post in not starting in quotations.
Think of three primary hashtags for most sites.
Do not go hashtag crazy.
Write out a simple description of the quote for the alt tag. This is where you describe the image with the quote to someone that is blind. This would also include the quote itself. So a description of the background and then writing along the lines of “and text that reads… (add the quote here).
If it is a little long for sites like Twitter, be sure to add the beginning of it in the content you share.
As you add the image to your website be sure to fill in the description of the image, the title of the image and the alt tag as mentioned above of the image to give the image itself as much juice as possible.
This archives tag and the location on a blog will give the quote its home anchor of sorts. You can use it again in other places, but on the main page where it is used.
1. Add the photo and have it correctly filled out as above.
2. Add a break quote with the quote in the blog or on the page.
3. Reinforce the quote by adding it to a pull quote for the page if it
is available.
4. Add the primary keyword phrase for that quote to the
keywords or tags for the blog.
5. Create the archives tag page off that blog for that keyword
where you can add the image, the quote and information about it again. Seen in example above.
6. Prepare the hashtags, from the top three you will use on primary sites to the up to 30 you can use on Instagram.
“To me, artificial Intelligence like ChatGPT used by those with wisdom, knowledge and experience can authentically enhance the distribution of intelligence and information in a positive way. Though when used by deceptive, unexperienced and greedy fools… it can be a dangerous tool.” – Loren Weisman
Having a simple text file for each quote that has:
1. The primary keyword phrase
2. The Quote
3. The Alt Tag Description
4. The core hashtags and the extended hashtags.
5. The link to the archives tag for the quote.
6. The link to the page the quote is on.
7. The link to the GoodReads Post.
(This is usually one of the first place to post the text quote and can be used as the reference point for IMDb as well as a point back for Google Business, Pinterest and other pages)
…Can make posting and distribution a lot easier.
Then you are good to go to distribution.
Distribution:
Stewarding Strategic Quotes Blueprinting for the Posting.
Core places to post. You might even find in searches other places where you can do free submissions.
Do not get too caught up in trying to get the quotes everywhere, but on some days, if you have a little extra time, have a search and add a new quote in a few new places.
After you anchor the image on a website page and an archives tag as discussed in the last section, consider first…
GoodReads
(This will get you a reference link to the quote on an authority site)
Strategic Quote Blueprinting for Messaging and Optics Additional Reinforcement:
Consider over time, and not all at once…
1. Creating a blog where the primary keyword phrase (that 4 word lead from the quote) is the anchor of the blog and the blog is expanding on the quote.
To stay in certain SEO lines, make the Blog title that primary phrase and the rest of the quote up to sixty character.Do not do the whole long tail title to try to capture the quote.
2. Do the same thing for a video…
3. Then the same down the line for a podcast.
4. And consider adding that quote to a press release too.
Side note 1:
A real press release that is distributed through a channel like Send2Press and not one of those fly by night hype sites claiming they will send to all sorts of media. Choose a service that releases professionally to the press over spamming some media contacts.
Side note 2:
Anytime you put out a professional press release, try to get two quotes in per release. A release that is correctly put out across authority news channels and wires will bring up the authority of those quotes.
Using this detailed format may in the end help to secure and optimize your quotes more than just posting them and not taking the time to reinforce them.
This approach can also optimize these quotes so when your quote is searched… and if it is your quote, that it will show up in a series of different results and on a series of different sites.
Consider searching for some of my quotes to see these elements in action too:

Compliant messaging presence online and some tactics to consider. A Brand Communications and Optics talk title focused on some of the security and stability elements for compliant online brand presence.
Tactics to consider for a compliant messaging presence online
This is the shortened title for a messaging and optics speaker full talk title called:
“15 Tactics to consider for a Compliant & Stable Brand Presence Online”
Brand Communications and Optics Strategist Loren Weisman asks audiences to…
Consider each of these elements and apply them,
in order to enhance and reinforce:authentic online presence, reduce online penaltiesand build up the foundational authority for you, your brand, your messaging, your earned media and your story.
If you choose to take a look at these elements below,
consider the difference between the objective and the subjective.
Many are out there saying what you need to do, what you should do, what you have to do and what you must do…
Still all too often, many of these methods have no legitimate, objective proof.
A first step to understanding the messaging that will work best for you comes down to the differentiation of the opinions and the facts.
And just because you have not been caught or penalized yet for doing something wrong, illegal or non compliant, does not mean that time is not coming.
“Stop settling for, subscribing to and becoming enticed by stupid. I believe most are smarter than that. Yet many allow themselves to continually get sucked into it.”
While it’s easier to fool some one than convince them they have been fooled…
Please consider looking deeper for substance over hype.
It can make all the difference in your compliance, your message and your authenticity.
It is your decision in how you want to appear.
I am not telling you what to do.
I am sharing some information for you to consider and bring to your blueprint and your foundation.
and at the same time,
if these things mean nothing to you,
simply do nothing.
In this talk, Loren goes in to more detail about each of the 15 aspects listed below.
The primary takeaways from this talk are rooted in the foundation actions to ensure that an individual or companies website, social media as well as other offline messaging and branding is compliant, uniform, clear and consistent.
Personalizing your Brand and Messaging Blueprint
Connecting Graphics & Messaging
Writing Alt Text for Images
Reinforcing Inc. and Auth. Links
Removing the objective claims
Generating FAQS for Optimization
Expanding your page presence
Unvarying Avatars & Headers
Vetting the Hype & “Experts”
Preventing Penalization Planning
Creating Liability Documentation
Producing Phone & Web Legibility
Posting your Authentic Authority
Applying Perception Optic Clarity
Messaging with Subjectivity
Differentiating the popular opinions from objective and substantiated facts
Many offer up advice that is often times is either an expired truth, no longer applicable or advice that worked for one person but might not work for all. Each of the tactics in this talk come from objective, substantiated, updated and proven information.
In the end, it is the decision of the individual regarding how compliant they want to be when it comes to these tactics to consider for a compliant brand presence online.
A Presence of Stability and Security and uniformity.
With a sound foundation that is as creative as it is compliant, the long term compounding growth can build in a stronger fashion and allow for many more options.
This over just trying to do everything in the moment and jumping from trend to trend like many self proclaimed business coaches claim you should.
A Compliant messaging presence online. Tactics to consider:
Stop Points in your messaging…
Stop trying to be a life coach, a motivational coach or a business coach…
Especially if you are not one.
Exit the trend jumping.
Avoid using illegal content, pre made content and content that does not showcase you.
End buying into the hype that has no foundation under it.
Stop claiming humility, but referring to yourself as an expert or a master.
Move away from being sold on the applications of expired facts, half truths, short cuts or false hype
Why a quarter of the commitment or following 50% of the instructions while looking for the whole 100% results?
Avoid referring, reviewing and giving top notch testimonials about peoples services and products that you do not know about for sure.
Many of the mistakes that cause the penalizations often come from doing things that do not feel right and yet many think that they are suppose to due to popularity, hype or hearsay. Consider that if it feels off, false, fake, no you or seemingly untrue… then it just might be.
“The foundation of your messaging is framed by your words, your story and your actions. Consider making them strong, true, authentic and yours.”
Some other authentic questions and tactics to consider for a compliant messaging presence
There is no “Your truth” in Authentic marketing. It is objectively true or it is an opinion.
Are you building to engage and connect for the long term or only trying for a viral moment of likes and follows?
Sharing only other peoples content and selling? Or are you sharing your story with your authority?
With the numbers, claims and marketing you’ve been told to use, do you believe it yourself?
Allowing for accountability to play a role in your message for your customers and are you showcasing your accountability for customers.
Can some one really become a master or an expert in a 40 hour course or for that matter, a six month one?
Do you have the authority to be able to share more of the how and less of the what?
So many make the what claims…. fewer can share the how.
Would you openly share your methods, your marketing tactics and your promotional approaches with everyone?
And if not, are you are hiding unethical, immoral items as well as lies?
This comes to the methodology, the tools, the tactics and the content.
Are you transparent to share exactly what you use and how you use it?
If it can work for anyone, does that really mean it is right for you, your authority and your authenticity?
Consider moving away from the conventional acceptable and popular opinions that do not consider you, your authenticity and your brand.
Many of these classes and courses claiming master courses, expert courses and more ego hype, often times, is just filled with that.
And consider there are so many creating tips, tricks, courses, books, videos and more that hold no validity to them whatsoever. Many of them are creating to try to funnel and draw people in. Keep that in mind.
Thinking like an investor may help you find money and investors.
Thinking like an investor may help
An excellent things to consider for any venture you are a part of or starting that needs money, is to think from the standpoint of the person that might give you money.
This is a key reason in how thinking like an investor may help you find investors, investment, and money.
Now, this is not about the whole shark tank approach. This is not the hype and getting the most cash and smallest percentage and the whole hustler and hype thing.
This is about stepping out of your shoes and looking at what you are creating from the investor standpoint. Not just to get money, but to feel confident in the money you would be investing.
“Sometimes the messaging and story are right where they need to be, but the issue is in the performance and delivery of that story and that message. The melody, tone, dynamics and tempo can be everything in a delivery.”
Sometimes we are all too close to a given project and we just think to ourselves,
“How could it possibly fail?”
And in that limited sighted approach, many failure elements may present themselves.
The problem with that is from being too close, from not creating a detailed enough business plan and not looking at every expense and every potential revenue, we find our selves giving vague answers to detailed questions and leaving the plan in potential shambles with a lot more risk on the table.
When the brand messaging and the process architecture are not in place, it can create a greater risk for that investor.
When the security and compliant measures are not in place, again, it can make it a riskier investment.
In turn, by preparing the foundation to secure your business,
in the messaging, the protectionthe authenticitythe storyand the humility…
it can create more confidence in investors and turn up the volume on their amplified authentic opinions on what you are doing with a positive tone.
You can also dig deeper into swot analysis tools to improve your business as well through data driven and strategic considerations to help the messaging of what you are creating.
When you run across
the operational touch points,
the strategic touch points,
the core time frames, and
the messaging
simultaneously;
It can allow for a sound foundation
to be heard above
the unison and harmonies of so many others
saying the exact same thing at the same time.
Discovery

Messaging
before
marketing…
“No one can create your brand for you. No one can create your story for you. To be authentically created, this has to be with you.”
Giving yourself a better chance
Imagine you had the amount of money that you need and someone else wanted it. What would you want to see from them to know you would most likely be able to get that money back and with interest?
This is where how thinking like an investor allows you to attract more investors.
While many think they are ready to jump in and ask for money, when posed with some simple questions for any type of business to invest in, many of these people begin to ask all the questions, they should…
and funny enough,
the same questions they haven’t answered in their plans.
How does thinking like an investor makes you smarter?
By thinking like an investor and someone that is about to invest money, you can see that other side of the coin that much better. It can help you to see where the detail might be lacking and where certain assumptions that are clear to you, may need to be more defined for a potential investor.
The last part of how thinking like an investor can help is based on the return. This comes to the point of seeing if there is enough budgeted for what is needed to promote and market to allow that money to come back.
“Sometimes the messaging and story are right where they need to be, but the issue is in the performance and delivery of that story and that message.
The melody, tone, dynamics and tempo can be everything in a delivery.”
Most business plans are incredibly underfunded or are launched too early before all the funding is in place. The bulk and I would comfortable say most… fail because of it.
Again, by looking at what is being spent where, by looking at the justifications and timelines from the standpoint of an investor, and potentially hiring a business consultant to help to review and make sure you haven’t forgotten anything, you will have a plan that is that much more detailed, showing that much less risk and allowing a potential investor to feel that much better about investing in you.
“No one can create your brand for you.
No one can create your story for you.
To be authentically created, this has to be with you.”
The same comes down to investment. When it works clearly for you, it can be understood by that many others.”
Thinking like an investor… a great thought process and way to process your thoughts.
