One-Sided Thinking: The Full Transcription
Consider keeping an eye out for the one-siders, the lopsided types. These are the type of people communication wise that you share something with them or it’s something you shared with them and they immediately buy in. They don’t need to see the other side.
They see that ad. They don’t care that it could be AI. They don’t care that it could be a scam. If it feels good, if it felt right, if it’s in the pocket, they’re happy with it and they believe an opinion is truth. They don’t look at another side.
That can harm your business, that can harm your strategy, that can harm your relationships.
If you’re dealing with certain people or you notice that someone is stating, “Okay, they’re all in because they only heard one side,” and they won’t even consider the other view, then do they have the whole picture? And in that lacking of the whole picture, what are they bringing to the table? Could it end up harming you? Could it end up harming your business?
That motivational coach that’s out there making all these amazing promises and guarantees and all you need to do and this is what I did.
Did you look to see if they actually did it? Did you look to see if they’re building their brand, their foundation actually has a rock to stand on? Or is it all fluff?
So many people right now seem to be so caught up so quickly in one view, one side, and it’s so imbalanced that they end up falling over when the truth hits them or when something contradicts.
People say, “Oh, I was lied to by this person.” They may have put out false information. They may have put out false claims. But you may have been the one that allowed that lie to happen.
Dig deeper. Look at all sides before making that decision, especially when investment is involved.
And lastly, watch out for those that are so prepared to make judgments, turn opinions into facts, and see everything from one view without considering another. These could be dangerous people for your business, for your life, for your relationships as a whole. Just a thought.
Opinions and Facts in My Talks
