Intellectual Property Policy Statement for Loren Weisman

Introduction

As a brand communications and optics strategist based in Washington, Utah, my mission is to foster innovation and creativity while protecting my intellectual property (IP) assets.

This policy outlines the principles and guidelines governing the creation, management, and protection of IP generated by my team, partners, and collaborators.

Scope

This policy applies to all types of intellectual property,
including but not limited to:
Copyrights:
Original literary, artistic, musical, dramatic, and cinematic works, such as quotes, blogs, videos, podcasts, and links shared on social media platforms.
Trademarks:
Brand names, logos, slogans, and other identifiers used in our business operations.
Trade Secrets:
Confidential information that provides a competitive advantage, such as proprietary strategies and methodologies.

Ownership

Employee and Contractor Work:
I retain ownership of all intellectual property created by our employees in the course of their employment or by contractors and partners as specified in their respective agreements.
Client and Collaborator Work:
In collaborative projects, intellectual property rights and ownership shall be defined through specific agreements that respect the contributions of all parties involved.

Protection
Copyright Registration:
While not mandatory, I encourage registering copyrights for original works to establish prima facie evidence of ownership and facilitate enforcement against infringement.
Trademark Registration:
I will secure trademarks for our brand names, logos, and slogans to prevent unauthorized use and protect my brand identity.
Trade Secret Protection:
I will maintain confidentiality agreements with employees and contractors to safeguard trade secrets.

Utilization

Commercialization:
Intellectual property owned by me shall be utilized in a manner that aligns with my strategic objectives, including licensing, sale, or incorporation into my services.
Licensing:
I may license my intellectual property to third parties or acquire licenses from others to support our business operations, subject to approval by my designated IP management person.

Monitoring and Enforcement

Continuous Monitoring:
I will set up a system to monitor social media and online platforms for unauthorized use of my intellectual property.
Enforcement:
In cases of infringement, I will take legal action, including sending cease-and-desist notices and filing complaints as necessary.

Education and Awareness

Employee Education:
I will educate any and all employees on the importance of intellectual property protection and the hazards associated with it on social media.
Audience Awareness:
We will inform our audience about our intellectual property rights through clear copyright warnings in our content and encourage proper attribution when sharing our work.

Compliance

All employees and contractors must comply with applicable laws, regulations, and our guidelines related to intellectual property rights and usage.

Review and Update

This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in intellectual property laws and our business operations.
